How many protocols can be stored on the Viafreeze?
Currently up to 30 protocols can be stored on the Viafreeze.
How long to warm between cooling cycles?
At the end of a cryopreservation protocol, the VIA Freeze will hold the final temperature until the user has confirmed the samples have been removed. The VIA Freeze will then enter a heating run where it warms to 40°C in order to remove any condensation.
This warming process take around 40 minutes from -100°C. This can be accelerated with the use of a warming block, taking only 25 minutes. The warming cycle can be stopped early through the "System Manager" > "Service Screen" icons from the VIA Freeze homescreen.
The temperatures from warming from -100°C can be seen below.
VIA Freeze store?
VIA Freeze has an 80GB SSD which is enough to store over 10,000 hours of continuous freezer operation
How can VIA Freeze software be updated?
A networked VIA Freeze can be updated remotely by one of our support engineers. Customers will need to put a temporary port forwarding rule in their firewall to enable access for the engineer.
A non-networked VIA Freeze can have its application software updated using a USB key we supply.
